Arte y Pico Award

Mandy at Texas Medical Freak nominated me for this award. She blogs about her struggle with having a medical condition that the medical field can’t seem to figure out. She also has an autistic child.
Upon winning this award you are tasked with the following rules…
- You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also for contributing to the blogging community, no matter what language
- Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
- Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.
- Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of “Arte y Pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award. http://arteypico.blogspot.com/

So here are some of my favorite blogs:
Whitterer on Autism: This is probably the first autism blog I started to follow regularly. Maddy has a very engaging voice, and such a positive and honest attitude, it’s addictive.
Nonfiction Lover: A fairly recent find of mine, this is a wonderful blog. I happen to love books, but I can’t read everything. Hava gives meaty reviews, and when I want to check out something ‘different’ I know where to find a good rec.
Mommy Confessions: Michelle is very open about her maternal foibles, almost all of which I can relate to. Very funny and always good for a mood lift.
Autism is Beautiful: Another really positive autism blog that I relate to very well.
An Adult Autistic Perspective on Growing Up on the Autism Spectrum: Jessie provides an enlightening insight, provocative opinions, and for me, a great deal of inspiration.
These are a few of my faves - stop by and show them some support!

Thank you for the nomination and the kind words. My only hope is to help as many people as possible. If just one peron is helped, then I have succeeded.
Here’s to raising the awareness of autism, and to raising awareness among parents that autism is not a sentence and that their children will grow up to be another somebody with their own unique gifts and contributions to share with the world.
Wowsers girlfriend, how fun! And thank you for the kind thoughts. I appreciate it.
Now I have to figure out who I’m going to nominate!
If you hadn’t nominated me, I would have picked you for the list, LOL! Since your blog is out, I’ll have to come up with five other ones. I have quite a few blogging buddies, so it’s going to be difficult to narrow this down.
Choices, choices…
